I love everything about Christmas. I love that it brings out people’s concern for their fellow man more than at any other time of the year.
I spend my days fundraising for Bethany along with our brilliant fundraising team and the monetary gifts sent in for our winter work, often accompanied by little supportive notes, are so encouraging and uplifting.
In my personal time I play in a Salvation Army band and so I get to see another facet of people’s giving at Christmas whilst we play carols at various venues in Edinburgh.
Our Christmas tree is such a focal point in my family.
It’s the luscious smell in the living room and all the tasty treats and sparkly decorations catching the light.
The knowledge that buying the tree is another way to help people less fortunate than me is the shiny star on top.
