Why on earth we use a tree to celebrate the winter season?

When looking for a Christmas tree this year you might wonder why on earth we use a tree to celebrate the winter season.

Most people tend to believe that the significance of a Christmas tree is purely based in the Christian faith however, Christmas trees were a tradition long before the Christian faith came about.

The Egyptians, Vikings, Druids, and Romans all marked the winter solstice with evergreen trees to symbolize everlasting life and the coming of spring.

Martin Luther is credited for being the first to bring home a Christmas tree to decorate in the 16th century, inspired by a walk through the forest at night as the stars twinkled through the branches of the trees.

This marked the beginning of Christmas tree decoration as we know it today.

Now that you know a bit more about the history of the Christmas tree it’s time to think about buying one?
